Tranquility-Tea
Meditation Tea Ceremony
Offered weekly starting in mid-April, 10am
This is a silent, non-guided meditation ceremony where the ritual holds the container and the medicine of Tea assists with our consciousness journeys.
Please set aside about 2 hours for the experience (1 to 1-1/2 hour ceremony followed by 1/2 hour commentary).
Arrive 10-15 minutes early. Latecomers are not accepted.
Wear comfortable clothing (floor seating provided) and do not bring additions to the ceremony (water bottles, journals, phones). If outdoors, insect repellent and clothing appropriate for temperature changes.
Be mindful that this is a unique group experience and be sensitive to the flow and well-being of those around you. Group size is limited to 6-8 persons.
The ceremony will serve 3 cups of tea and one cup of water. We serve tea containing caffeine.
Non-caffeinated (lightly medicinal herbs) and Cacao Ceremonies are available by wait-list (please email).

Jess Bates
Jess was a frequent attendant at Markus Lyons Tea Ceremonies held in Ashland over the years. When Markus and his family moved to Thailand, he gave Jess her first side-handle pot and the information for where to get the training, in hopes of keeping the offering available.
This Cha Dao form, developed by Zen Monks in Taiwan, is the basis for the Ceremony structure (Global Tea Hut).
